Blackwater Promotions: The Life of a Photographer

On the surface, it’s easy to assume that photography is just “taking pictures,” but the reality is, there’s a lot of work that goes into taking high quality, impactful photos. As a photographer on a shoot, you’re never just “taking photos,” as the process requires you to be adaptable and creative on the spot. Carrying bags, moving items around, taking apart and assembling a set are just some of the things that a photographer handles during a project. And of course, as this is all going on, someone has to take pictures of that process too.

By the end of the shoot, you won’t be able to find a single spot that your camera lens hasn’t touched. Of course, things don’t always go as planned, even for the best photographers. That’s why it’s all hands on deck, often requiring the assistance of other team members to help make the most out of any situation.

Sometimes, the intensity of the projects requires you to get a lot done in a very short time frame. Just recently, Blackwater Productions was tasked with completing photo shoots for an international hotel chain, a local karate center, and a hotel event catering service.
